Pieyre-Alexandre Anglade will be the MP representing French citizens living in Luxembourg in France’s National Assembly. He is seen with Frédérique Vidal, the French education minister, during a campaign event in Brussels in a picture posted on Anglade’s Twitter feed on 30 May 2017.

Pieyre-Alexandre Anglade of La République en Marche, the French president’s new party, garnered 50.09% of total votes in France’s 4th overseas constituency, which represents the Benelux countries, in the country’s National Assembly.

Only 21.1% of the 23,000 French nationals registered to vote in Luxembourg cast their ballots on Sunday. Anglade received 60.7% of this vote; Valérie Bros of the centre-right Les Républicains came second with 19.9% of the vote.

French voters in 11 overseas constituencies went to the polls on 5 June. Citizens living in France will vote for MPs in two rounds on 11 and 18 June.

Having secured a majority, Anglade will not face a run-off round.
