Normally the flags of the 28 EU member states and the EU flag provide the backdrop to the conference stage, but keen eyed visitors spotted that the Union Jack was missing during an event held by the Luxembourg Director’s Institute (known by its French acronym, ILA), which had hired the space.
A chamber spokesman explained that this was just a matter of a flagpole having being needed elsewhere on a temporary basis.
By Wednesday 16 November, the flag was back in place. So this is not even a storm in a teacup.
