Following a string of mentions by John Oliver of Luxembourg, the Flemish TV sketch show Wat Als? (what if?) has now also weighed in with a satirical piece on the Grand Duchy.
The sketch, titled “What if everyone forgot about Luxembourg?”, shows a meeting of Eurocrats being addressed by the deputy prime minister of Luxembourg (played by an actor not a million miles away from looking like Étienne Schneider) who are astonished to discover that Luxembourg is a country in its own right.
The German representative intervenes to say that she has been to Luxembourg, but thinks it is just the name of a petrol station. The final straw comes when the deputy prime minister is asked to name a typical Luxembourg dish.
