No wonder: temperatures recorded in Luxembourg reached an all-time high on two days in May, exceeding the 30.4° C bar set in 2009.

According to Meteolux, the Grand Duchy’s weather agency, May 28 and 29 reached 31.5° C and 31.6° C, respectively. By comparison, the previous record was 30.4° C set on 25 May 2009.

Luxembourg’s water management authority is urging the public to conserve drinking water for essential uses, such as food and hygiene, due to the prolonged drought.
