In response to a parliamentary question by Fernand Kartheiser (MP for the ADR), the minister for defence said this decision would be taken together with the Grand Duke and the army.

The goal would be to “freshen up” and give the uniform “a more modern touch”. It would be made more comfortable by using better materials. However, Schneider excluded shaking up tradition. The “British tradition of the service dress, the emblems, the belt, the beret and the badges of the army” would not be changed.

However, it was too early to indicate a timeline, producers or models for the new uniforms.
