This represents a decrease of 5.8% (942 people) over the last year, according to the Luxembourg’s economic studies and statistics agency, Statec. The decline was particularly noted among those under the age of 30, as well as low-skilled jobseekers, which were down by 11.4% and 7.7% respectively. The number of long-term unemployed fell by 4.7%, as did the number of jobseekers registered disabled or with reduced work capacity, down 5.8% year-on-year.

During the month of July 2018, employers declared 3 612 vacant posts to Adem, representing 707 posts, 24.3% more than in July 2017. The most frequently sought-after roles are: accounting (143), computer studies and development (143), secretariat (102), financial markets front office (100) and kitchen staff (97).
