Oberweis selected the industrial zone in the east of the country in order to have a larger workspace and to escape the traffic. Its central operations are currently located at the Cloche d’Or, a district in the south of the capital which is being rapidly developed into a second Kirchberg.
“We are seeing significant productivity losses, and we must also take steps to better ensure quality and hygiene,” company director Tom Oberweis, who co-manages the firm with his brother, Jeff, told our sister magazine, Paperjam.
The move is planned for 2021 to a 2.4-hectare plot close to the Weis-Schon garage. Oberweis told Paperjam he was lucky to have found such a large site so close to the capital.
“Everyone knows that finding a location near Luxembourg City is very complicated,” he said. The Oberweis café/restaurant is to remain in Cloche d’Or after the move.
