The development of the new Parc Kaltreis and its planetary and space themed playground cost around €1.6m.

In addition to picnic tables and trails, the new park has a number of sport facilties for public use, including an outdoor fitness area with chess, a bowling alley and pingpong tables. There are also beachball and basketball courts.

Care has also been taken to preserve the biodiversity of the park. "To this end, some lawns are less often mown than others, depending on the principle of intensive or extensive cultivation,” Sonja Fandel, head of the parks services, told Delano’s sister publication, Archiduc. “However, it is certain that more intensive care will be taken in the area of sporting and recreational facilities.”

At the new park, kids can also beat the heat with water games, thanks to the purified water system in place.

An area has also been made available for a foodtruck for the future.
