The site near Bissen for the Google data centre is almost in the bag; one signature of a co-owner of a 1.8 hectare parcel of land is missing.Picture credit: Carlos Luna

According to RTL, one signature from a landlord is still missing. The parcel of land measures 1.8 hectares, out of the 33 hectares.

The new site is located at the Bousbierg, behind the industrial zone “Klengbousbierg” in Bissen. The bureau of reparcelling/urban regrouping ("office de remembrement") has been charged by the Bissen local council to conduct the negotiations.

Previously, it had been reported that the site would be 25 hectares. The 33 hectares are made up of 15 properties owned by 24-25 landowners.

RTL reported that one signature of the three co-owners of the two parcels of land of 1.8 hectares is missing. The other two have already signed. Apparently, the issue is an inheritance dispute. The problem is that the parcels are centrally located, so that they cannot be left out.

Even if the site is available, it is not certain Google will accept it.
