Tessy was responding to a post by Royal Central, a news site specialising in Britain’s and other royal families around the world, in which it said that “the Duchess of Sussex still deserves better than how she has been treated”.

On Sunday evening Tessy tweeted: “Absolutely! No one deserves that…Either you know or be quite [sic].”

She added that people should “Stay kind! It’s the new cool.”

The Duchess of Sussex has come under scrutiny recently in the press--on everything from her baby bump and fashion choices, to rumours of a feud with her sister-in-law, Kate Middleton, Duchess of Cambridge.

In later replies to other tweets following the discussion, she adds: “I defend her for her right to be respected as every other human being on this planet. No one should be shamed like that in public…I defend millions of women globally, why wouldn’t I do the same for her.”

Tessy is a humanitarian and activist, known to be outspoken about women’s rights. She has advocated for the UN and Professors Without Borders, among other causes.
