Sunday’s solemn gathering took place on the junction of rue de Clausen and rue Malakoff where, on 8 July 1918, the RAF bombarded the then German occupied area.
British ambassador to Luxembourg John Marshall and Luxembourg City first alderman Serge Wilmes (CSV), pictured, laid wreaths during a religious ceremony.
RAF centenary celebrations also took place in London on Tuesday morning where a parade of 1,000 service men and women marched through the UK capital and 100 aircraft flew overhead.
