Two weeks after experiencing a “significant anomaly”, SES has regained contact with its AMC-9 satellite. Two unknown objects have been observed orbiting near the 15 year old satellite. A spokesman told Paperjam that SES has not regained operational control of the satellite, but is still running technical checks. The outage is expected to cost the Betzdorf-based firm “less than €20m” in lost revenue.
There are 18,800 children aged 1-3 in Luxembourg, according to the DP education minister Claude Meisch. More than 3,400 of them attend state-backed daycare centres, 6,141 attend private daycare centres and 935 are looked after by “parental assistants”, who provide daycare to a small number of children out of their homes.
Raiffeisen Bank said it would close three of its 40 branches--in Clervaux, Wormeldange and Noerdange--by the end of the year as part of a restructuring package.
The third edition of Luxembourg Art Week will take place 2-5 November. The first two editions of the contemporary art fair drew 7,000 and then 12,000 visitors, Alex Reding, a gallery owner and fair organiser, said at a press conference. “15,000 would be a good number for the next edition”.
