Síle Reidy may not have qualified for the final 32 stage of this year’s Rose of Tralee contest, but Luxembourg Rose committee’s Thérèse Collins says she “did a great job representing Luxembourg during the festival... and even managed to get host Dáithí Ó'Sé to speak a few words of Lëtzebuergesh during her on stage interview.”

The Luxembourg Rose committee is now focused on finding candidates to take part in next year’s Rose Ball, tentatively scheduled for 20 May, where a jury will select the girl to represent the Grand Duchy at the 2017 Rose of Tralee.

Candidates must meet several requirements, including an age restriction (they should be between 18 and 28), having never been married, and must have been born in Ireland, be an Irish citizen or be of Irish origin by virtue of one of your ancestors having been born in Ireland.
