- After a day of meetings in Seattle, a Luxembourg space sector delegation has a full agenda planned for the San Francisco Bay Area. On Tuesday they will visit Planet, a space imaging outfit, and Space Systems Loral, commercial satellite maker; both firms are potentially a good fit for the grand duchy’s Spaceresources.lu initiative. The delegation is headed by Crown Prince Guillaume and Étienne Schneider, the deputy prime minister.
- Volotea launches flights between Luxembourg and Nice this weekend. The Spanish low cost airline will have two return flights each week. Luxair currently offers daily return flights. On its website Monday, Volotea had a one-way fare from Nice to Luxembourg on 31 May for €9, which rose to €41 including checked baggage and a snack.
- Fabrice Maire has been named the new chairman of the Luxembourg Maritime Cluster. He succeeds Freddy Bracke, who headed the promotion body since its creation in 2008.
- Car registrations rose last month by 1.28%--to 5,191 new registrations--compared to February 2017. That is a rise of 1.03% between March 2016 and March 2017, according to Statec.
- The Grand Café on the place d’Armes has reopened following renovations and under new management. The listed building was first inaugurated in 1894. The brasserie is now part of the Red Beef group.
