The long wait was over for students at St George's International School as GCSE results were published Thursday
The long wait was over for students at St George’s International School on Thursday when the IGCSE results were published.
The private school retained its 100% pass rate, despite the student cohort rising from 223 to 375 in 2017.
Almost half (47%) of all exams taken by students were graded A* or A, while 88% were graded A* to C. They did particularly well in the German exam, for which two thirds of students (21) received A* and four students received A. Two thirds of students sitting the French language test (11) also receive A* and two received A.
The school recorded a 97% pass rate for the 91 students who did AS examinations this summer. They achieved strong scores in a number of disciplines including mathematics (10 As out of 16 results), further mathematics (5 As out of 6 results), and chemistry (6 As out of 9 results). In addition, 86 students received results for their A2 exams, recording a 99% pass rate with three quarters of all results between A* and B, up from 55% last year.
