Three quarters of people polled say that Esch-sur-Alzette’s appointment as European capital of Culture for 2022 is a good thing for Luxembourg.

The poll was conducted by survey company TNS Ilres in December and aimed to gauge public knowledge and enthusiasm for the project.

While the former industrial town carries the title, the area implicated in the culture initiative also spans communes on the French side of the border. A total of 12 communes in the ProSud region are involved.

Coordinators are calling for cultural project ideas, sponsors and volunteers to assist with the initiative. Click here to find out more.
