Teams can register now to participate at the urban rally. Discover Luxembourg is a yearly fun event organised by G-media that invites citizens as well as tourists to explore the capital city of the grand duchy. It is a walking competition between teams of four which undergo diverse challenges to win points. The challenges are divided into four themes, including history, culture, gastronomy, and technology.

The walking route changes every year, and in 2017 it will be a mix of old and new, including some of the most popular spots from previous years. There will be one short, buggy-friendly route (6k) and one longer route (10k), which can take up to 4 hours. Anyone can participate as long as one team member is over 18. Enthusiastic individuals are free to join a team on the day of the event.

According to Geoff Thompson, one of the organisers of the event, the message of the rally is to “discover something new in the city and have a lot of fun while doing it.”

As in previous years, the raised funds will go to charity. This year, Discover Luxembourg supports Handicap International.

The start is at Place Guillaume II, with the first team setting out at 12:30pm. Participants are urged to wear walking shoes and weather-appropriate clothing. Information packs will be handed to participants at the start, in French or English. The prize ceremony will be held around 7pm, once all the teams have arrived at the final destination.

Team registration costs €60 (plus administration charge) and can be made online until Thursday 7 September at www.discover-lux.lu
