Christmas period

All public transport will be suspended from 20:00 on Sunday 24 December, Christmas Eve. The same applies to special transport for Adapto, the service for people with reduced mobility.

Trains

The CFL will run on the Sunday and holiday schedule on 25 and 26 December.

On 24 December, the Infopoint at the central train station in Luxembourg will close at 20:00.

The international ticket office will open on 25 December at 6:00. The ticket offices at other train stations will be open according to the Sunday and holiday schedules.

Bus

Buses from the networks AVL, CFL, RGTR et TICE will resume their services around 8:00 on 25 December, according to the Sunday schedule. The Late Night Bus of TICE will not run between 25 and 26 December.

The Call-a-Bus and Rollibus will run to the normal schedule during the Christmas period, except on 24 December, when it will finish at 20:00 instead of 24:00.

New Year’s Eve

 Train

CFL trains will run during the night of 31 December to 1 January on all national lines. Between midnight and 6:00, special trains will run every hour in both directions:

  • Between Troisvierges and Rodange (via Luxembourg and Esch-sur-Alzette)
  • Between Wasserbillig and Rodange (via Luxembourg and Dippach)
  • Between Luxembourg and Kleinbettingen

Bus

 On 31 December, CFL, RGTR and TICE (with their night service) will run according to their normal schedule.

The Ville de Luxembourg has stated that on New Year’s Eve, the majority of the regular lines will operate during the whole night until around 5:30 on 1 January. More details can be found here.

On New Year’s Day, the buses of the AVL, CFL (bus) and RGTR will start running around 8:00. TICE buses will operate according to the Sunday schedule.

For people with reduced mobility, the schedule of the Call-a-Bus is extended to 5:00 in the morning of 1 January.
