Catering and kitchen staff were among the most sought-after roles at Luxembourg job centre Adem Pexels

The latest figures published by job agency Adem via Statec (pdf) show Luxembourg is continuing on a positive trend, when it comes to the numbers.

By the end of April 2018, 15,369 people were registered as looking for work, 557 fewer than in April 2017. Under 30s and unskilled workers were among the main people driving this improvement with 7.9% and 6.1% fewer in the dole queue respectively.

Most sought-after profiles

The number of jobs posted at Adem rose by a fifth, over the course of a year, with 3,266 vacancies in April 2018. The most sought-after profiles were for professional offices, kitchen staff, secretarial, masonry, accounting, manual assembly, sorting or packaging roles and catering. There were 7,203 vacant posts at the end of April 2018, up 14% compared to the year before.
