This is the 27th consecutive month where unemployment has gone down, according to the jobs agency.

Compared to March last year, it has decreased by 930 people, which represents 5.3%. Unemployment is now at 6%, a slight increase of 0.1% to February.

Vulnerable unemployed people are also benefiting (-7.6% for those with health problems over the past year), those poorly qualified (-7.4%), and those registered at the Adem for at least 12 months (-7.2%).

The number of people who benefit from special employment measures (mesures pour l’emploi) has also decreased by 2.3% over the past year. Currently there are 5,374 people who are in work thanks to one of these measures.

In March 2017, employers have registered 3,191 vacancies with the Adem; that’s 70 less than in March 2016.
