638 fewer people registered to their services has brought Luxembourg’s seasonally adjusted unemployment rate down to 5.5%. In January this year, the unemployment rate in Luxembourg stood at 5.8%. These statistics follow a continuing trend in the Grand Duchy.

Job seekers under the age of 30 and those seeking low-skilled jobs have contributed most to this figure, with their unemployment rates dropping 9.4% and 4.4% respectively. For university graduates, employment figures remain the same.

Between 1980-2014, unemployment in Luxembourg had been on the rise, reaching a peak of 7% in 2014. Only in recent years has this rate seen a steady decline.
