Marco Lorenzini, André Jung, Fernand Fox and Paul Greisch are the rebellious pensioners in Andy Bausch’s “Rusty Boys”  PTD

Starring some of Luxembourg’s finest screen actors, “Rusty Boys” by Andy Bausch is a genteel comedy laced with generous helpings of biting satire. Co-written by Bausch and Frank Feitler, the plot centres on the efforts of four pensioners who “rebel” by seeking to set up their own commune rather than spend their final days in a retirement home. As always, this is easier said than done and the film explores the challenges they face in realising their dream. The film’s tagline is “Al, rabbeleg... a rebellesch!” (Old, ramshackle... and rebellious!). Watch the trailer here.

The quartet are played by the great André Jung, Marco Lorenzini, Fernand Fox and Paul Greisch. A whole host of actors familiar from Bausch’s film canon make up the cast, which also includes two actresses from the English-speaking international community--Claire Johnston and Anne Comfort.

The film is subtitled in English and hits local cinema screens on Wednesday 25 January. However, production company Paul Thiltges Distributions has kindly given Delano two pairs of tickets to the avant-premier to give away to readers. Bausch and his actors and crew will be at the screening, which will be followed by a reception.
