According to figures published by the equal opportunities ministry on Wednesday, the proportion rose from 30.34% to 39.47%.

Since the current government came to power, the gender wage gap has almost halved, falling from 10% to 5.4%, the ministry wrote, adding that equal pay for men and women was now enshrined in the Luxembourg labour code and therefore failure to comply is a criminal offence.
