Following on its “Friday for future” march last month, during which thousands of students took to the streets to demand better government action in tackling climate change, the youth group is organising a “Global strike for future 2” march. Details have not yet been announced, but the event is currently planned to kick off at 10am.

In an interview with Delano’s sister publication, Paperjam, Zélie Guisset, a 17-year-old European School Kirchberg student and one of the event organisers, said that similar protests would be taking place in other cities in Europe and that the group was “highly motivated” in mobilising participants for the cause.

“It’s been 30 years that the government knows about climate change, but it doesn’t do anything, or not enough,” Guisset added.

Youth for Climate Luxembourg now boasts well over 1,000 members on Facebook.
