Maxime Kemmer (Ecole privée Fieldgen), Lejla Mujkic (Lycée Michel Rodange Luxembourg), Elena Perticucci (International School Luxembourg) and Clémentine Rixhon (Lycée Aline Mayrisch Luxembourg) were awarded the “Young Woman in  Public Affairs” prize at a ceremony at Mudam on 24 May.

Each year women’s group Zonta International awards four grants as part of the prize. The €500 prize aims to encourage young women to make a difference in society and politics and recognises the work of young women aged 16 to 19 who have shown initiative, a sense of responsibility and altruism through their voluntary efforts. The overall aim is to further the status of women on a local and international level.

Zonta was founded in the US in 1919 on the premise of promoting the status of women at all levels of society. There are four Zonta clubs in Luxembourg.
