The eleventh edition of the Cinéast, the Central and Eastern European Film Festival, took place 4-21 October at a host of different venues in Luxembourg, and culminated with an awards ceremony held at the Cinémathèque, on the evening of Friday 19 October.

The awards ceremony, attended by around 60 people, concluded the official festival programme and was followed by a special screening of “Just the Wind”, a film directed by the president of the International Jury, Bence Fliegauf from Hungary.
The Critics Prize was decided by members of the press jury, including the film critic and RTL radio presenter, Claude Neu. On presenting the award, Neu said that the choice had been a unanimous one, as the film beautifully touched the subjects of aging, humanity and love. The winner was “Ága” (Bulgaria-Germany-France, 2018) directed by Milko Lazarov.
International Jury Awards
The international jury was comprised of both film directors and actresses from multiple European countries, including the well-known actress Astrid Roos, who has appeared in several Luxembourg productions. The awards presented by the international jury were:
