New York startup Hydrogen scooped the 2018 KPMG-Lhoft Fintech award and €50,000 at a summery prizegiving on the KPMG beach on Wednesday.

Created just six months ago, the startup offers a toolbox with more than 400 application programming interfaces which can be integrated into existing systems.
Judges awarded their favourite startup after a pitching session given in front of hundreds of people. Second prize went to French startup Lingua Custodia for its high-performance translation system. They won a three-month lease at Technoport. Swiss regetch Apiax, whose financial process compliance tool was awarded third prize, which comprised of a media promotion from Maison Moderne.
A special inclusive finance prize was awarded to BitValley for its blockchain-based technology helping small farmers in developing countries.
2018 marked the third edition of the awards which this year attracted some 200 candidates.
