The Breakinâ Convention festival of hip hop dance theatre, comes to Luxembourg in June and is calling for submissions from local dance companies, crews and artists.
On Saturday 18 and Sunday 19 June, Breakin’ Convention is coming to the Grand Théâtre--the first ever European dates for the festival of hip hop dance theatre. Local dance companies, crews and artists have until 5 February to apply to take part in the two-day festival, which is being organized by Delano’s October edition cover star Kendra J. Horsburgh (photo). Local here is defined as being within a two-hour driving radius of the theatre.
The weekend in June will be packed with live dance performances, workshops, DJ demos, graffiti and cyphers. The line-up already includes Ruggeds from the Netherlands, Storm from Germany, Antoinette Gomis from France and Compagnie Wang-Ramirez as well as Kendra’s Birdgang Dance and her own solo performances.
There will also be opportunities for graffiti artists, DJs and MCs and hip hop musicians to be involved as part of the festival programme, with foyer and outdoor events throughout the weekend.
