Nigerian-American poet and activist Iyeoka performs as part of the Printemps Musical festival.
To say Iyeoka’s lyrics are poetry is no hyperbole, this first generation Nigerian-American poet and activist interweaves her writing and the global issues she is passionate about through the medium of soul.
Her voice has been likened to Nina Simone, Sade, Amy Winehouse and Lauryn Hill, and the video of her global hit ‘Simply Falling’ has been viewed over 18 million times on YouTube.
She is described as “a story teller to the core” whose “hope-filled words pour out from within and build momentum based on truth.” She has covered U2’s ‘Desire’ for charity album In The Name Of Love: Africa Celebrates U2 and has seen ‘The Yellow Brick Road Song’ from her latest album Say Yes become the theme song to USA Network show Fairly Legal.
She performs at den Atelier as part of the Printemps Musical festival of jazz and world music organized each spring by the Luxembourg City Tourist Office.
