Heiner Goebbels’ latest creation, “When The Mountain Changed Its Clothing” is set in Maribor (Slovenia’s second biggest urban community) and follows the changes experienced by 40 young girls aged between ten and twenty.
As the seasons pass by and like a tenuous thread between childhood innocence and the unexpected, the young protagonists become the reflection of political changes occurring in Slovenia.
The music is performed by the choir of the Maribor Carmina Slovenica vocal theatre--with its vast repertoire--which blends traditional singing and partisan songs from the Tito era.
A poetic and captivating play where art, the individual and existence resonate politically and collectively.
This production follows previous Goebbels works such as “Eraritjaritjaka, Stifters Dinge” and “I went to the house but did not enter”.
