This week the Rock Classics@Beaufort Castle programme takes on a more contemporary feel.
The rock concert programme at Beaufort Castle continues with a show on Wednesday by Hamburg band Revolverheld, whose recent hit, power ballad ‘Ich lass für Dich das Licht an’, was all over German radio this year.
Fellow German Klaus Doldinger (composer of the score for Das Boot) brings his jazz-rock band Passport to Beaufort on July 31 for a concert featuring the trio of pianist Francesco Tristano, vibraphone player Pascal Schumacher and percussionist Bachar Khalifé as a warm up act.
James Blunt (photo) returns to Luxembourg on August 1 for a show at Beaufort. The former soldier turned balladeer performed at the Rockhal in 2011 and is currently on his Moon Landing tour in support of the album of the same name, which gave the singer-songwriter a top ten slot in over 15 countries.
The festival’s highlight must be the performance of Patti Smith on Sunday August 3. The legendary punk poet is now 67 but still revels in performing live on stage--she also played the Rockhal, in 2012.
Things turn a little more mainstream on August 8 when Scottish singer Amy Macdonald, another recent Rockhal guest artist, brings her twee folk-pop stylings to the castle.
The programme concludes on August 9 with another artist who will attract another huge swell of German music fans to Beaufort, Chris de Burgh.
