Ten things to do

Personal finance Friday 20 November

Deduct this lunch

Delano does not know if you personally can write off this particular tax talk, but with 2016 just around the corner, it nonetheless is a good time to think about getting your personal finances into shape.

Deduct this lunch

No one wants to pay more tax than they have to, but it is easy to get confused by all the different rules, and by the bureaucratic language (particularly when it is not written in your native tongue).

So the British Chamber of Commerce for Luxembourg holds a personal tax primer this week, presented by Laura Foulds of Analie, a tax advisory firm specialised in Luxembourg expats.

The chamber says that luncheon talk will: “cover the ‘must-know’ items to ensure individuals can optimise their taxes before the end of the year, how Luxembourg compares with its European neighbours and what we may expect to see looking to the future. We’ll also touch on some commonly asked questions around filing Luxembourg taxes & some changes in UK taxation that affect, in particular, non-residents owning property in the UK.”

The event starts at 12noon and costs €35 for BCC members or €50 for non-members. Book via the link below. And then you can ask Foulds about the possible deductibility of the luncheon.
