Portland five-piece Wampire visit Luxembourg on the back of second album “Bazaar”.
Founded by Eric Phipps and Rocky Tinder as a duo, Wampmire released debut album Curiosity to mixed but generally intrigued reviews in 2013. The Line Of Best Fit described the album as sounding “like it was thrown together in someone’s basement after a 48 hour session watching crummy B-movies and smoking headache inducing homegrown.”
Follow up Bazaar sees the band expand its scope. Now a five-piece, Wampire are producing more mature music that explores elements of psychedelic electro-pop packed with squealing guitars and lots of saxophones.
The track ‘Millennials’ in typical of the album, containing, in the words of critic Chris Todd, “woozy reverb, vocal pitched up a notch aping female singers, honky tonk pianos and 80s synths.”
