Luxembourg pianist Cathy Krier performs solo on the stage of the Philharmonie’s grand auditorium.
Cathy Krier, who has just celebrated her 31st birthday, started studying music at the Conservatoire in Luxembourg City and went on to the Académie musicale de Villecroze, Scuola di Musica di Fiesole in Italy and the Hochschule für Musik und Tanz in Cologne. She has since travelled the world to perform in the United States, all over Europe and Colombia.
Last year she was nominated as one of the European Concert Hall Organisation’s rising stars. She plays a selection of works by 20th century composers such as Denis Schuler, Henri Dutilleux and Wolfgang Rihm as well as by Jean-Philippe Rameau and Maurice Ravel.
