This year’s Autumn Leaves jazz festival at the Abbaye Neumünster, now renamed Neimënster, features a wealth of talent.
The annual Autumn Leaves jazz festival has expanded from its long weekend format to take in a whole month of performance at the newly named Neimënster venue in the Grund.
Organised with JAIL (Jazz In Luxembourg), the festival programme includes future performances from Italian stars Gianluca Petrella and Giovanni Guidi, pianist Murat Öztürk and local talents Maxime Bender and Raquel Barreira as well as Lisa Simone, daughter of the great Nina.
This week’s concerts include the free Sunday apero jazz concert by German drummer Oliver Strauch’s Trio Duende, featuring the aforementioned Murat Öztürk and bass player Jens Loh and a performance by Strasbourg based band OZMA (photo) which combines a wide range of influences from electro to rock and funk to experimental music. Their show at Autumn Leaves commemorates the centenary of WWI.
