Whether you prefer salty, sweet, spicy, mild or simply original, the Bazar International is full of tasty treats from all over the world. Paperjam Foodzilla has put together a typical selection to prepare you for the battle.

With nearly 60 countries represented at as many stands, the is not only the largest fundraising event in Luxembourg. It is also a tasting adventure for the thousands of visitors expected from 11 to 13 November at Luxexpo. So if you have a taste for discovery and/or adventure, follow the guide!

Canadian specialities that warm the heart (and the body!)

Maple syrup is a Canadian staple, found in delicious maple leaf-shaped biscuits, but also in Sortilège, a Canadian whisky that--as if by magic--transforms a strong alcohol reserved for a well-informed public into a beverage that is so easy to drink that you’ll feel ready to face winter, or even a karaoke night of Céline Dion's greatest hits! It's enough to make the whole thing go haywire…

Kimchi, the star of Korea

Kimchi, a real institution in the peninsula, has a special place in the gourmet selection of the Korean stand. The preparation of fermented cabbage spiced with chillies can be enjoyed with a local beer to sweeten things up, not to mention other typical preparations from the Land of the Morning Calm that are sure to tantalise your taste buds.

Warmth and weird letters from Iceland

The Icelandic community in Luxembourg is happy to find a little bit of its folklore represented at this big event. And if we find pretty woollen jumpers that help us get through the winter with almost as much style as Björk, we can also taste typical Icelandic bread and other rúgbrauð and flatkökur with names evocative of Viking epics... There is also a way to fill up on Scandinavian candies! Tak!

The Bazar version of 3 Suisses

Something sweet with the famous chocolates, something savoury with the not-to-be-missed cheeses and finally something practical with quality knives: these are our three Swiss favourites for this Bazar International! Whether you prefer raclette or fondue, you’re sure to find a cheese to suit your taste! And to accompany this, a selection of Swiss wines will be available at the Swiss stand, cheers!

A taste of America

Whether you prefer brownies or mac & cheese, you’re sure to find something at the American stand. It is one of the largest at the Bazar International, with a selection of gifts, but also groceries, some of which are very useful in the preparation of Thanksgiving meals at the end of the month, such as mashed potatoes and cranberries.

We say oyster at the French stand!

What better way to start the winter than with a shot of iodine? The oysters on offer at the French stand take you straight to the beaches of Normandy and Brittany, where the best specimens grow with the tides. If you’re more down to earth, a special champagne and foie gras evening is planned for Friday evening, so get ready...

Waffles and beers “made in Belgium”

Whether you like perfectly rectangular Brussels waffles with light dough and generous fillings or a fan of the sticky Liege waffles, you’ll find what you are looking for at the Belgian stand of the Bazar International. And to accompany it all, a selection of Belgian beers should delight all visiting foodies!

Pisco Inferno at the Chile/Peru stands

Eating well at the Bazar is good. But you need to know where the most insider cocktail stands are to wash it all down with moderation (if you can find it!) And if there is one cocktail that is emblematic for the most festive visitors of the event, it is the Pisco Sour from the Chilean and Peruvian stands... And you know . When one of the two stands runs out of ingredients, it’s not uncommon to see an almost discreet crowd running frantically to the other!

Unique Hungary

We stay in spirits with one of the most daring “digestifs” of the Bazar International: the Hungarian Unicum, whose extreme bitterness will delight enthusiasts! Try it as early as possible in the day, otherwise you will not find your palate or the exit... Also to be accompanied by some typical biscuits, which are very welcome.

A little dance in Ireland?

The Irish stand is undoubtedly one of the most festive and cheerful of this large gathering, thanks in particular to the regular performances of traditional dances that are organised there throughout the weekend. But that’s not all: Irish salmon is, of course, one of the most exquisite specialities to be tasted on the spot, and it is even possible to order some in advance to leave with a nice gift from the sea (any reference to Brenda Montgomery and Criquette Rockwell would be a real coincidence...) Clever!
