Luxembourg’s startup accelerator programme, Fit 4 Start, opens its call for applications on 22 August, inviting digital and data-driven ventures featuring innovative technologies to apply.

The 13th edition of Fit 4 Start targets companies working with blockchain, big data, artificial intelligence, the internet of things, machine learning, robotics, cyber telecom, open-source technology. The targeted ventures mostly operate in smart mobility, logistics, cleantech, fintech or manufacturing. A dedicated track also offers places to healthtech startups which will see companies from the digital therapeutics, digital diagnostics, remote monitoring and medical devices sectors being represented.

In May, Economy minister (LSAP) and Luxinnovation CEO on Monday presented the redesign of its “Fit 4” programmes to make them more fit for purpose to support small and medium-sized enterprises. The “Fit 4” programmes allow SMEs to benefit from support in terms of both public subsidies and expert advice. The aim of the redesign is to make the programmes even more responsive to the specific needs of businesses.

The 20 startups selected for 12th edition of Luxembourg’s flagship accelerator programme were chosen from a total of 214 applications from 42 countries. Three of the final 20, Databourg and RSS-HYDRO from Luxembourg and Mopso from Italy, fell into the HPC category and benefitted from a special programme allowing access to Luxembourg’s supercomputer MeluXina.
