A retirement home in Belvaux is currently experiencing a cluster of people infected with covid-19. Three of the four staff that tested positive at the Résidence op der Waassertrap have not been vaccinated.

A total of 18 people, 14 residents and four staff, at the Résidence op der Waassertrap in the commune of Sanem, run by CIPA (Centre intégré pour personnes âgées), have tested positive according to a press release issued by the ministry of family, ministry of health and CIPA.

The statement reveals that 13 of the infected residents are fully vaccinated and that the majority of them have so far not shown any symptoms. However, one resident is currently hospitalised. But three of the four personnel tested positive were not vaccinated, the statement says.

The retirement home has put in place by the health inspectorate. An LNS PCR test for the entire community (residents and staff) is scheduled for 21 October, but until then the Waassertrap residence will remain closed to visitors.
