The Network gathered 30 women for an exclusive Christmas dinner at Strogoff on 7 December to close out the year’s activities. Each of these women received a gift from the event’s sponsors as a surprise. While reflecting on the range of events the organisation held in 2022, The Network’s president, Mariana Florea, highlighted the activities that were conducted from the beginning of the year.
The women’s networking group organised several events that helped build the social, mental and professional prowess of women in Luxembourg. Workshops on professional development, mental health, financial freedom, and fundraising events are the major highlights of the organisation’s recap.
Focusing on mental health, an online session with Annika Carroll, CEO of Sleep Like a Boss, was conducted on sleep saboteurs, sleep patterns, stress, hormones, and gut health at the beginning of the year.
Two fundraiser event were organised. The first took place in March, an opulent gala dinner and charity fundraiser at the DoubleTree by Hilton hotel to commemorate its belated 30th anniversary. A total of €9,000 in donations was raised and distributed evenly among three local women’s charities. The second was a wine tasting fundraiser at Wormeldange in August.
Subsequent events that marked this year’s achievements are the professional events that focus on helping women to be financially emancipated.
In collaboration with the Luxembourg Chamber of Commerce, a new English-language lending library was launched in Luxembourg. The American Chamber of Commerce in Luxembourg (Amcham) supported this project by providing 30 membership cards to The Network members to commemorate the latter’s 30 years of existence and the cooperation between both parties.
