In a constantly changing world, companies need to adapt to new employee expectations and technological advances. In Luxembourg, since 1 January 2025, meal vouchers have been issued 100% digitally, loaded directly onto the cards of beneficiary employees.

From 1 January 2025, employees who receive meal vouchers in Luxembourg will be able to receive their vouchers digitally. This is an important step that both companies and employees can look forward to! , the first voucher issuer to go digital, explains why and how digital meal vouchers will make our lives easier.

Digital: nothing but benefits

Dematerialised luncheon vouchers are easier for companies to manage. They are easier to set up, save time by loading onto the card instead of physically distributing envelopes, and can be easily managed (orders, invoices) on digital platforms.

For their part, employees can use up to five vouchers a day, or a maximum of €75 a day if they benefit from the maximum daily value of the meal voucher, in a wide variety of outlets, from restaurants to local shops. This essential flexibility also allows users to pay for their purchases to the nearest penny in their favourite establishments.

Meal vouchers, an essential part of the salary package

Granting meal vouchers to employees is a strategic lever for attracting and retaining talent. In a competitive labour market where the war for talent is raging, companies that offer attractive benefits stand out from the crowd. Meal vouchers are a tangible benefit that contributes to employee satisfaction and loyalty. Not only do they improve purchasing power, they also promote a corporate culture based on well-being.

The Edenred card, an ultra-powerful card

"We have designed the Edenred card with this universal technology to enable it to be used in a greater number of shops, including for online purchases," he adds.

As an added bonus, the Edenred card can be dematerialised on a smartphone or connected watch, enabling payments via Apple Pay or Google Pay.

What's more, Edenred's gift vouchers are also digital. The end-of-year period rhymes with well-deserved gifts. At Edenred, spoiling your employees is child's play, as gift vouchers are also loaded onto the Edenred card. One card for two solutions, so you always have them in your pocket.
