Statec figures published on 26 October show that paid employment in Luxembourg rose by 0.8% in the second quarter of 2022 and by 3.6% over 12 months.

Luxembourg’s statistics service has released its newest figures on employment in the grand duchy, showing that the increase in paid employment is continuing. In the second quarter of 2022, paid employment increased by 0.8% compared to the first quarter of 2022.

Employment in specialised activities and support services (1.4%) and communication activities (1.2%) increased the most this quarter. This is due to accounting activities and routine cleaning services.

Over the last 12 months, paid employment in Luxembourg has increased by 3.6%. The domain of specialised activities and support services was also one of the most dynamic in annual comparison--employment in this sector increased by 4.7%. Administration and other public services grew by 3.9%, with central government recording the most significant growth.
