While it can still be difficult to go out for dinner, Paperjam Foodzilla offers you this week a little recap of gourmet shops that have recently opened and that allow you to have great food at home too.

Good fish

We’ve been waiting for it for a long time and it’s finally here; a new good fish shop, named Kraken, can be found in the Gare district. The store is managed by the Thym & Citron team and features regular fresh arrivals from Rungis, France. We told you about it , and soon afterwards we fell in love with it.

Cream puffs

With the top of the Grand-Rue finally finished, Nabil Belhadj is taking advantage of a prime location to showcase his lovely range of cream puffs in his dedicated shop, complete with an elegant tea room.

Hot local

With their new catering counter, Veronica and Pit Wanderscheid complete their offer of great local products with good food and delicious homemade sandwiches, just a few steps away from their first shop. We love the delicious focaccia that you can make yourself.

Good cheese from experts

Four years after its launch in Mamer, the cheese dairy Le Cœur de Meule opened its second outlet in the neighbouring town of Bertrange at the end of 2021. On the menu: cheese, wine and numerous delicatessen items carefully selected by Émilie Vaux and her husband Philippe. The couple already has a good reputation. We are therefore fully confident in the future of this new shop which smells of success (and cheese, of course...).

Top quality pastries

Nicolas Bourgard was born in Lorraine and trained in a series of Parisian shops and starred restaurants in France. Back in the greater region, he first worked at the Citadelle in Metz, before becoming head pastry chef at the Cercle Munster. At the end of 2021, he decided to take flight and open his gourmet shop, which has been delighting the region's sweet tooth ever since!

From Italy to there

In his drive to develop the Come à la Maison brand, Séverin Laface in May 2021 opened a little food court in “eataly” mode, with all the best fresh, dry and cooked products from the Botte. It smells of Italian flavours, well-chosen products and take-away food "de la nonna"... A real plus in a neighbourhood that really needed it!
