80 Days is an old app. A very old app, even, all the way from 2014. But it was acclaimed then and nothing has changed about its curious romp through the world of Jules Verne.

Recommending an app that is already seven years old and not among the most-ever downloaded is a bold move… but 80 Days—à la Jules Verne’s Around the World in Eighty Days—hasn’t aged at all. The game takes players on a journey of discovery around the world using almost every possible means of locomotion.

It comes highly praised and awarded, too, with approval from the New York Times, the Guardian, the BAFTA and others.

What we loved:

—the variety of worldwide adventures

—the storytelling and the graphics

—the educative blend of history and geography and literature

What we loved less:

—discovering that it now costs €5.49

—that it’s only available in English [editor’s note: even us Delano readers can appreciate that Jules Verne must be spinning in his grave]
