Whether it's a snack before a flight, an efficient business lunch or a nice dinner, Paperjam Foodzilla has got you covered with a list of a few good places to eat near the airport this week.

Obvious: the Airfield

Here is an address that needs no further convincing: the Airfield restaurant has been filling up for years thanks to its sophisticated decor, a nice terrace, a well-thought out menu. Nice rooms, which offer a definite upgrade compared to the standards of the neighbourhood, add to the restaurant’s experience. Extreme proximity to the airport and real-time flight information are additional assets. It is little bit on the expensive side but has great value!

Caliente: Toro Toro

Located in a small corporate complex, a few steps from the airport, Toro Toro was affected by teleworking influx during the pandemic, but is now back with its half-steakhouse, half-Spanish-tapas approach. This is a typical combination of the Manso group to which it belongs, which likes to provide variety in its offers within the same establishment. This one is quite successful and makes the place a nice and easy-to-reach meeting point from Findel, especially for a quick aperitif. Remy Manso promises some great new things on the spot very soon!

Insider: Restaurant Poiré

This is an spot that does not look like much at first glance, but which has been attracting gourmets for many years, as Miriam Rosner, Antoine Clasen and Georges Gales have told us. Nuna and Abi know how to take care of their customers by serving a frank, gourmet and very generous cuisine. It provides village café atmosphere just a few minutes away from Findel.

In the sun: Brasserie Um Tennis

This is the “tennis club” address of the area, with two indissociable characteristics of this kind of establishment: a great terrace and a simple and efficient menu, with quality meat, big burgers, some pizzas and local specialities (bouchée à la reine, Wäinzoossiss-purée...). Perfect for a lunch or a pre-flight drink on a sunny day. Special mention for the choice of craft beers!

Casual chic: Brasserie O'

The latest addition to the Aura group (Osteria di Niederanven, Al Treno...), which opened at the end of 2019, Brasserie O' immediately stood out for its elegant and contemporary decor, its warm atmosphere in winter and its pretty terrace in summer, as well as its menu. It offers not only well-cooked dishes and a choice of croquettes unrivalled in Luxembourg (the croquette, always and forever: chorizo, truffle and duck, grey shrimps, cheese....), but also with a “nutrition” wink on the evening menu, for organic dishes with vegan and “superfood” options. It's enough to satisfy the most diverse appetites during a dinner, a few minutes by car or bus from the Findel.

A little further away (but worth it): the Pèitry

The Restauberge Pèitry is one of Foodzilla’s favourites of the Luxembourg bistronomic scene, as it knows how to do rustic with good taste, the tasty cuisine of chef Quentin Debailleux and the nine pretty rooms of the auberge part that allow, as for the Airfield, to settle in a little more stylishly than in one of the big chains facing the airport. This little diversion is well worth it!
