Patrick Majerus will replace Crown Princess Stéphanie at the head of the board of directors of Luxembourg’s Mudam contemporary art museum as of 1 January next year. 

Mudam had previously announced a , as Suzanne Cotter departed the grand duchy to join the Museum of Contemporary Art Australia in Sydney. Following confirmation by the government council, the museum as of January 2022 and for a period of six years will also have a new board of directors.

The crown princess of Luxembourg will no longer be president, but honorary rresident. The role of president will be assumed by Majerus, an art collector and senior civil servant. Danielle Igniti has been named vice-president.

The members of the Mudam board of directors from January:

- Dr Serge Allard, representing civil society;

- Anouk Crielaard, deputy inspector of finance at the Inspectorate of Finance;

- Luc Dhamen, director of the Public Buildings Administration;

- Danielle Igniti, civil society representative;

- Jo Kox, advisor to the Ministry of Culture;

- Patrick Majerus, representative of civil society;

- Danièle Wagener, representative of civil society.

As a reminder, the current board of directors until 31 December 2021 is composed of Philippe Dupont (vice-president), Paul di Felice (vice-president), Catherine Decker, Laurent Loschetter, Florence Reckinger, Danièle Wagener, Jo Kox, Danielle Igniti and Patrick Majerus as well as Hereditary Grand Duchess Stéphanie.
