Law firm Allen & Overy hosted a three-course meal for some 65 clients and social workers of Stëmm vun der Strooss on 15 July.

Earlier in the year, Allen & Overy representatives had donated sleeping bags and new work jackets to the non-profit organisation.

The firm’s Magali Maillot, Véronique Braunert and Fabian Beullekens, working with Stëmm vun der Strooss director Alexandra Oxacelay, then organised the lunch on 15 July. It was held on the 8th floor terrace of the Allen & Overy offices in Kirchberg. The law firm also presented participants with sanitary kits containing bath towels, a toothbrush, pads and other hygiene products.

"It is really incredible to see how the Allen & Overy staff kindly welcomed our clients and how much effort they put into doing something good for these people,” said Charles Bechet, graduate educator and site manager of the Stëmm vun der Strooss in Hollerich. “For them, it is extraordinary to be able to eat in such a beautiful atmosphere and forget their problems for an afternoon.”

The close relationship between the Stëmm and Allen & Overy dates back to 2013. Over the years the law firm has supported the association in many ways, whether through financial donations, collections of food and hygiene items, or through their presence as volunteers at the Stëmm's traditional Christmas party.
