ANote Music to represent Luxembourg at Startup World Cup

Music rights fintech ANote Music won the regional final of the Startup World Cup on 9 June and will progress to the next round which will take place in Silicon Valley, and could land the winner with up to $1m in investment.

The competition, organised by Pegasus Tech Ventures, saw Luxembourg startups evaluated by a jury to determine which one was the most promising company. ANote Music was selected as the final winner with Food4All and WEO finishing second and third respectively.

The music fintech will face more than 70 worldwide competitors in the next round which will take place in Silicon Valley from 28 to 30 September. ANote Music’s creators will also be able to meet an exchange with other players in the startup ecosystem.

The jury comprised of VCs and tech entrepreneurs based their evaluation on criteria such as the business’ offer, problem-solving ability, market and traction, competitive advantage, business case, sustainability, strength of the team, overall pitch and presentation.

ANote Music was already recognised as a Young Innovative Enterprise by Luxinnovation, setting the company up to receive up to €800,000 in funding if it achieves a series of objectives agreed with the agency. The startup, founded in Luxembourg by by Marzio F. Schena, Matteo Cernuschi and Grégoire Mathonet in January 2018 with the aim to bridge the gap between the music industry and the financial markets by creating favourable conditions for both creators, investors and listeners.
