Ake, an Izakaya in the Grund
The Kamakura restaurant has reopened in the Grund under the name Ake by Kamakura. The new concept has been developed by the team led by Hajime Miyamae: the predominant style is now that of an Izakaya (the Spanish equivalent of a “bar where you eat” or a tapas bar). The menu is designed to offer shareable dishes inspired by Japanese tradition, but with a modern twist. It’s an atmosphere and a cuisine that lends itself well to informal meals with friends or family. And to accompany all these dishes, the restaurant offers a selection of original cocktails and top-quality sake. Particular attention has been paid to food and drink pairings.

Flow, for Mediterranean cuisine
Flow is the new restaurant on the ground floor of the Hôtel Cravat. The cuisine is inspired by the Mediterranean--and Greece in particular, the country of origin of the restaurant’s manager. Customers can be served lunch or dinner, with or without dishes to share. The menu includes aubergine caviar, chicken souvlaki, fried feta, grilled octopus, orzo pasta, not forgetting the traditional Kataifi, a traditional dessert made with grated phyllo pastry and topped with walnuts.

Kaito, ramen galore
The new Kaito ramen restaurant has opened on Place de Paris. You can choose from a range of broth bases (miso, tonkotsu or shoyu) with different types of fresh noodles and toppings (pork, chicken, egg, vegetables, etc.). There are also two specialities: Tan Tan Men, with fried chicken, egg and a broth with sesame paste and hot oil, and Kaito Special, which combines chicken, prawns and egg in a similarly spicy broth. And for those who aren’t crazy about ramen, you can also order yakitori, gyoza or karaage. Special mention for the immersive decor.

Chock Dee: a taste of Bangkok in Luxembourg
Thai cuisine takes pride of place in this handkerchief-sized restaurant (ex-Glou, 16 seats...). After working in the kitchens of the Celadon and Bangkok Thai restaurants, Nittaya Jnita decided to open her own restaurant. Her cuisine is simple, authentic and delicious, including Pad Thai, curries, spring rolls and woks. The menu changes with the seasons. A lunch menu is also available, either to eat in or take away.

Tzukii, gourmet sushi
Hakii is a well-known address for sushi lovers. Now a second address has opened in the City Concorde shopping centre: Tzukii by Hakii. The cuisine here is even more creative than in the Merl restaurant, but the classics of the chef who made the first address such a success can also be found here. To discover this new address, you can choose the Zukii Experience menu or, for the less adventurous, the traditional menu. As well as a wide choice of nigri, maki, sashimi or California rolls, customers can discover ‘Chef Rolls / Tzukii specials’ that promise to take them on a delicious journey. As for drinks, there’s a selection of gins, rums and Japanese whisky.

Roost welcomes the Bistro Molkerei
It’s a surprising location, because it’s the first floor of Luxlait’s Vitarium factory in Roost. This is where Quentin Debailleux (owner and chef of Le Péitry) has taken charge of the Bistro Molkerei kitchen. The idea is to enjoy local cuisine in a friendly setting: potato pancakes, local planks, Feierstengzalot, Wainzoossiss, Kniddelen... Classic dishes, prepared with a modern touch. In addition to the bistro, Debailleux also has a vast reception area where he provides catering services for private events.

Second address for Flux
Those who went swimming in the Upper Sûre lake this summer may have stopped off at the petrol station in Hierheck to order from Flux Burger. From now on, they can also sit down in the centre of Ettelbruck, where Flux Burger has just opened a second address, again under the management of Gregory Reinertz. Here, you’ll find the same homemade, locally-sourced recipes that made the unlikely petrol station premises such a success, in an urban setting with murals by Raphaël Gindt and Daniel Mac Lloyd. Creativity is also on the menu, with five new burgers on offer every month.

And finally, good to know: Kin Khao has closed in the Hamilius district and will open on 10 September at 33 Rue de la Gare in Mersch, next to Fabrik, another restaurant in the Concept+Partners group.
