The bank revealed the news in a statement on 6 July. Bataille has been a part of the group for numerous positions and is currently group head of business development and an executive member of the board of directors of Degroof Petercam. He is also part of the Banque DP Luxembourg board of directors.
Bataille takes over the position from Bruno Houdmont, who will step back from the position--“by mutual agreement”, according to the statement, at the end of July.
“Bruno’s commitment and determination have been instrumental in the management of our activities in Luxembourg,” CEO of the group Hugo Lasat commented on the decision, thanking Houdmont in passing. “I look forward to pursuing a fruitful collaboration with Gautier in his new scope of responsibilities. Luxembourg is of strategic importance for Degroof Petercam and is a vector for growth,” he added.
Bataille’s position as member of the authorised management of the Luxembourg branch is still pending approval from local financial sector watchdog CSSF.
In the same statement, the group announced the appointment of a group COO, Filip Depaz. Depaz will be the first to hold this position.
