The addition of Bart Denys, announced in a press statement on 17 September 2024, will allow Simmons & Simmons Luxembourg to boost its capabilities in the investment funds space. Denys’ transactional expertise includes fund structuring and investor negotiations, while his regulatory practice covers Ucits, the Alternative Investment Fund Managers Directive (AIFMD), marketing and distribution.

Denys worked at the law firm Clifford Chance from August 2010 to April 2024, spending time in Luxembourg, London and Brussels. He also holds a part-time teaching position at the law faculty of KU Leuven, where he lectures a course on funds & investment management, as well as a seat on the legal committee of the European Fund and Asset Management Association (Efama), a pan-European industry group.
