On the occasion of the CAL (Cercle Artistique Luxembourg) 2021 exhibition, the Revelation Prize was awarded to Julie Wagener. Her triptych “It Hurts Until it Doesn’t” was awarded this prize, which is intended to encourage young artists.

The Revelation Prize is awarded every two years on the occasion of the opening of the CAL Salon to an artist under the age of 35. For the 2021 edition, Julie Wagener is the recipient of this €2,500 prize offered by the government and the ministry of culture.

The jury had the opportunity to choose from among the works exhibited at the Salon du CAL, which opened its doors on Saturday 30 October, to select the work deemed most promising. Julie Wagener’s triptych “It Hurts Until it Doesn’t” addresses the issue of mental health, a subject that is still all too often taboo, but which is very topical in our society marked by the covid-19 pandemic. These works were also presented during the “Brave New World Order” Triennial at Casino Luxembourg.

The previous Revelation prizes were awarded to Pit Molling (2019) and Nina Tomàs (2017).
