Concrete supplier Bétons Feidt confirms its move to Cessange in four years at the earliest.

The question of whether Bétons Feidt would still be present in Howald had remained uncertain. Bétons Feidt will move its site to Cessange in four years' time at the earliest, reports the Wort. When contacted, the company confirmed the information to Delano’s sister publication Paperjam, explaining that a site had been found. “We hope to build a new plant as we do today to ensure the production of concrete needed by Luxembourg City and its surroundings,” a spokesperson said.

The development plan of the municipality of Hesperange is the reason for this departure. More than 200 housing units could be built in place of the production site.

Another plot of land, on which a DIY shop is located, is still a problem because it is partly on Hesperange territory and partly on that of Luxembourg City.

Bétons Feidt has not provided any information about its site in rue des Scillas, where the tramway passes. In order for the Luxembourg City tram to run on two tracks the state has to buy land along the route belonging to companies Bétons Feidt and Olos Fund. This regards a 150-metre strip of land around the rue des Scillas. The transport ministry stated that the company plans to make its land available to the state but it did not provide information regarding Olos Fund.
