The lab’s mission is to promote distributed ledger technologies (DLT) and blockchain in Luxembourg and help various industries grasp the opportunities they offer.

After signing a collaboration with the education ministry, the Luxembourg Blockchain Lab (LBL) is also overseeing the blockchain stream of the recently launched Digital Learning Hub. The innovation cluster organised initial training courses that presented the main principles of blockchain as well as its legal and financial implications and will build on that by launching “a dedicated learning path” in the winter semester.

Emilie Allaert, previously head of operations and projects at Lhoft, was appointed as head of the LBL. In her new function she will collaborate with various blockchain actors present in Luxembourg and will manage the Digital Learning Hub’s activities.

“DLT technology is at a tipping point where we need to act and deliver concretely solutions to the economy,” said Allaert in a statement. “The Luxembourg Blockchain Lab being recognised as a cluster will help reach out to a wide range of actors and facilitate collaboration and solutions using DLT.”

The LBL’s five founding members Infrachain, Letzblock, Lhoft, the Luxembourg Institute of Science and Technology (List) and the Interdisciplinary Centre for Security, Reliability and Trust (SnT), expressed their support of the restructuring of the organisation which aims to create one single point of contact for all queries related to blockchain.
